Time to dig out the spooky!

As far as minis go i have dug out my halloween project, that has been on going for a few years now, but i did decide that with all the goodies i have and hope to have for it..I need more room, so i bought new kit to put together ..been busy working to get it together to start displaying all the goods and add more...has anyone figured out a way to bottle more time! LOL

Anyhoo..here are some candies i have for display..I love the little candy corn!

I am redoing my candy shop, have a new kit to house it all...but why do they make these kits off scale...the ceilings are too low, the door to low...now I will have to come up with some kit-bashing plans!

Well, its been a very busy time for me, we have had to pack up and leave one home for a new one...a lot of mixed feelings in there, but we have 'landed' and are starting to settle into our new home! A lot of work moving is, ugh not sure i want to try that ever again!

I did move all my minis myself, by hand..all my dollhouses, which is no easy task, and i don't care what kind of vehicle you drive...your houses go thru 'mini earthquakes' on their journey!

But all made it! Thats the good news!

So now I can hopefully get back to doing some fun stuff again, i have my craftroom all set up and continue to work on organizing it each night :) Its the one part of the house that gets the most attention! LOL

I wanted to help Kathi know how to change her fonts or her blog and decided to post it to make clear and help anyone else wondering the same. These blogs can be a bit tricky for some of us to figure out all the options!

So if you want to change your font style...go to DESIGN, click on that, then that will open up your blogs layout, then up in the left corner under the little tabs you should see where it says TEMPLATE DESIGN, click that..that will open your blog page and at top will be a box, at left click on the last option that says ADVANCED...this is going to open options for your text color etc...scroll down the options til you see TEXT FONT and that will open a zillion font styles to pick from, warning this is the hard part! Deciding on which one! LOL!!

Well I hope that help some of you, especially Kathi who was wondering :)

So..I have been busy in my workshop/craft area....I have finished up for today and have this update to share..now I always have 'helpers' (my kids) when I am doing things..and as I left for just a second when I came back I found this..warning this man is not dressed, so hope it does not offend anyone! :P

So 'someone' has been playing with this doll, hmm...I found him curiously looking into the new bathroom I have added to my new B&B ...hmmm....

the bathroom is about done, will need to make window dressing and find things to add ...I did the floor myself, found a way to make the back splash, and found this little bathroom set at Hob Lob for cheap, This is just a little bathroom , no need for a huge one, just the way I wanted it...
ah, and if its not the kids..heres the other 'helper' I have to keep sharing my chair with her! Move your feet..lose your seat around her! LOL..now for that naked man running around..I better find him some clothes! LOL

Happy New Year!
As the new year rings in tonight, I wish everyone a Happy and safe New Year!
What a year its been! I am still working on my new B&B project, and have added a new window on my staircase landing, it sure helps to 'open' it up and add some light..growing up in a older home I remember the little square window on the landing of the staircase..it was very much like this one I tried to recreate....Old homes always have such character, and craftsmanship you don't find now days in new homes
Well..much to do, and with a new year a new window seemed appropriate......

Oh so much fun! I have been busy working on the first floor rooms..thats where I have disappeared to, if you were wondering, lol!
I have finished the wallpapering, and am now working on the staircase. Doing myself, Oh I also had to do my own door..the one that came with it just would not do..I have a vision..lol...plus the one it came with had gaps and just not very good.

Just a update..I still have this wrapped candy...(the ones I did in with the Press n Seal)....and just wanted you all to know it is still looking good as ever! Some commented on this not being 'long lasting'...well tho its not been too long, just over a year, the 'candy' is still looking good :)

Construction under way!

I have stopped construction at this point to better finish the rooms this far, I feel its easier to get to some of these spots now....I can't shrink and get into some of these spots, ha!
I have started the first room, this will be the entry, where guests will sign in and get checked in while they stay, and it will also be the dinning hall...the stairs I am pondering on, I will be 'customizing' them, but have to plan them out first...today I will be working on some more of the wallpapering and trim

I have not been around much here lately, seems real life things always interfering any more...one awful thing that had happened was a pipe that broke in out basement and the septic backed into the basement..and my 'luck' have it right where I have all my dollhouses and work shop! It was a mess, and a terrible ordeal for me to see many of my things ruined! Including my Bed and Breakfast house, which was actually the very first dollhouse .....it was soaked!

But just yesterday hubby took me to get a 'replacement'! Ah like having a 'mini insurance' policy! HA! I am so excited! Once again I can find a little joy...move on from the sad tragedy! I have it all planned out! Been working at it and will continue til I have it all done and can place all the things that were able to be salvaged from the old house in!
So more to come!!

Goodness..where does the time go...and where have I been!!?

Answer to that is ...real life...I have had lots going on, warm weather, kids out of school, blaa blaa blaa.

But I am back! I have begun my newest project, The Beach cottage...well I cut the seal on the box any way..but thats a start for me! hehehe

I have big plans for this one.....so I pushed a few other projects out of the way, since I was 'stumped' on those for now any way!

And here is part of my garden out side that I have been 'taken prisoner' to, to watch explode for summer....

Have you ever had this happen? Do you ever get stuck..just can not figure it out...where to place things! Its horrible, I think it is a condition...I don't know what it would be called...but you freeze up..unable to make a decision on where to put one thing, then another...whats worse is when you think you are finally getting it, like you are magicaly cured, putting it all in place and then you realise maybe you have a second condition or that this has progressed into something even worse b/c you are removing and/or rearranging things!! ....ugh..maybe its being overwhelmed, but I think its far more complicated than just that......

I have sat here all day..staring at this little hutch...adding and then removing til.....the result, its simple enough...things still in place...just not on the hutch yet! Oh except the one little red pitcher from my dear friend MA###

Maybe tomorrow I will get further.....or one more thing added...one day at a time.....lol

.....its a wonder I get anything done...here is proof..I got side tracked! (AGAIN) Look what I did..I made a baby! A BABY! What was I thinking..wasn't I working on the cabin..where did this come from, guess thats how it goes! LOL, anyhoo...well she is sleeping...geesh that was really hard work..I challenged myself and I think I am pleased, I think I am getting better now with clay, just got to learn not to burn it! ha, thats my trouble..I get sidetracked and forget its in the oven! But this is another project I have been wanting to do for so long...now to make her 'room' and she'll need lots of baby stuff!

Goodness where does the time go!
I know..I was 'swept away' by a tall dark and handsome who gave me chocolates and I have spent hours stuffing every one of them down while playing with my minis! hehe..hows that...or maybe I am suffering from amnesia!
Truth is I got too busy, and forgot to post my valentine photo up..so not too late yet I am doing so now! (Tho the amnesia might be closer to the truth! lol, shhhhh!)

So here I have been , working on this 'man' cabin..I say 'man' b/c it is a cabin for 'that man' who ever, who enjoys hunting and fishing..not a place you'd find a lady much..and so the look of this cabin will reflect that too..lol..a 'man' cabin....anyhoo, so I have been working on the kitchenett part of this cabin..I decided that it should have some things to keep his...well beverages and 'meats' cold and fresh... once drug back and butchered, gutted yuk, yuk yuk! ..so I made this old frig. I think that will do the trick.....ahh, maybe it needs more grime...ok, I will go put more on it now...

..ahhhhh, fire....we have fire! ...well its almost a fire, still have to 'fill' the belly...but how about that! It has been no easy task creating this here little bit of 'warmth'...but we have succeeded so far! hehee!

I had to drill a hole in the floor and run the wire thru...so it goes under the cabin, connects with the other light and I have a switch, that my husband provided to me :) and from that a battery ...so neat, so I have this all connected and done for now...now I press on, to new adventures 'at' the cabin!

Belly of the beast!

Well I've been working on my lights in the cabin, this part went well, got the little light a nice spot in the belly of this stove..awaiting some things to add in to look like a real fire......but with the other light, the ceiling light, goodness just about took my finger off! ha, I just love the way they make things..they didn't grove the base of the ceiling light I got for the wire, so if I try to put it up on the ceiling it won't press completely to the ceiling b/c the wire is in between the base and the ceiling! Know what I mean? so I took my exacto knife and tried to hold the tiny little plastic base so I could cut a little groove in it with out one in my finger...yeah, well that didn't work so good..it was all go til the late and the knife slipped and headed right for my finger..YEEEEOOOOWWW! but..its up there...for now...now to run the wire......

.....So today with my throbbing finger I will figure out the rest of the wiring ...not to mention I thought I had a roll of wire and guess I was wrong..have to try and make this work.....I have done lights before, but this is sure challenging me! LOL!

Really was a wonderful Christmas to have some great, talented friends to share the joy of mini's with! I enjoyed sitting Christmas morning, like a kid opening up each gift!

From my friends ....Carolyn a beautiful Dress, Diann a yummy Christmas cake and teapot! From Michelle a beautifully made hand painted shelf, Nanner gave me wonderful little items, I love her plants and African Violets are my thing, she gave me some of those in mini, some of her wrapping papers, lov them! Now to get her to do other holidays and themes! hehee, little ornaments and the beautiful horse bowl and pitcher!

And from Janice two amazing little crocheted dolls! Mrs Clause to go with my Mr Clause she'd done before that I have ..and my favorite the lil witch!!!

What fun I had making these little decorated trees for the gals to display..hardest part was deciding on what to make for the blogger gals that i had no idea what they'd enjoy! That always stumps me when doing these kinds of things, lol, but I think it went well..

I still have not opened mine yet, and each time i run into one of the other gals talking about theirs on their blogs I have to close my eyes and close the page..don't want to ruin my surprises! Only 2 more days!!!

I am remodeling the cabin this winter, so those little 'men' folks may not like that idea, but it needs to be done..plus it will give me something to do!.....I have needed to add this railing and a way up to the loft up top for a long time now! Just finished up on this part of it, more to do later... .. now to that 'fire' I really need to get a little bulb, got everything else I need....

Its so easy a caveman can do it! ...so why am I having trouble ? Geesh, I am wanting to add a little 'warmth', a light to my little wood burning stove here ..but this is turning out to be really a trick for me...I know I can use a battery set up..but what do I need....seen it some place done, but can not recall where...so all I need is a bulb, 3v? 12v? and maybe a snap connector? hmmm...anyone have any ideas?

Well not wrapping him, but today I was busy sitting making candies and trying my darnedest to figure some things out! I am no pro at candy/food making..I have some friends that are! LOL :P

Well they have their own things to do right!? So why not try myself..and maybe some day...right, I say that in a very sarcastic tone, hehe,

anyhoo..don't let me get off track here..so..I was admiring some 'eye candy' photo's I have and just needed to figure out one things to accomplish for all the hours I'd been sitting there starring at it all..while my family left to themselves wondered what busy stuff I would be doing....candy....then it came to me! And I am going to share this with you all so you don't EVER have to sit like I did and WASTE your entire day! ugh!

You know the Glad Press and Seal wrap? Yaaaaaeh...not just Saran wrap, but Glad Press and Wrap...well its like magic! I took my little candies and snipped a bit of this for each candy and wrapped them, twisted their ends and Ta Daaaa! No Glue, no stuck to my fingers! Nothing! That easy!! Ha! AND they look great! Now to try some salt water taffies and wrap them, this works so good! heheee..i know..your probably thinking, omg she's just now getting it! But hey! Better late than never! And maybe, just maybe i may have inspired or helped someone who did not know about this 'Magic' wrap!

Oh rain, glass, and a new look for Rasputin! OMG! So much to tell today!

First it was a rainy, icky day..great for getting ya in the spooky ooky mood! So in my PJ's all afternoon I was so excited to get to the windows for my shop! One of my dear mini friend's surprised me with some 'glass' (plastic) just perfect for my windows! Thanks Mishelly!!One piece was even large enough to fit the store front window! How lucky! Love when that happens!

So i fit it in, cut the trim and painted, all done but some finer detail! (yes, there's 'glass' there in that picture! Pretty cool eh!?!)

Now Rasputin has a new look..yes, decided that he needed it..as I was working on my window and the rain tapping outside..the thought just popped right in my head..of coarse! So I took my magic..really is magic, marker and Ta daaaa! Rasputin in the all black kitty that I wanted for this project! And don't he look frightful sitting there in the new window! hehehehe!

Well here he is..he has been named!...he came along with a bit of a surprise, not exactly what I thought 'it' was going to be..but I must say what fun its been! 'It' had to grow on me..for a long time I left 'it', unwanted in a box.....Now as Halloween is creeping around the corner, and for the past couple of years now I have dug out my Halloween project every Halloween to work on, 'Maime Witch' needed a furry friend! Tho this was not what I had thought when the idea of a furry friend came about..as I said..'it' was 'out casted' to the lonely island of boxes! hehehee

But as my mini friends have talked me into using 'it', I must say 'it' has been a lot of fun and has made me look at 'it' differently...never mind that 'it' is out of scale for what a kitty in 1/12th scale should be....never mind that maybe it should have some feathers some where..as it looks almost like a owl than kitty..hmm, makes one very confused, but trust me 'it' is a kitty! ..and look at those huge eyes..and those ears! (Go ahead and poke him, you'll get a better close up of him :P)And never mind that 'it' is calico..b/c 'it' is a he and his name is Rasputin, Maime Witch's shop kitty, and companion!

Thank you to all my mini friends for encouraging me to give 'it' a chance and for helping to name him! He really has found a new home now! hehehee!

Look who came to visit me in the garden, this little guy has came almost every evening this week..so this time I got sneaky! I ran in and got my camera..ran out and took his mug shot! Now I have proof he was here..hehehee! Never seen one this color..and he just sat there ..made me think maybe he was enjoying posing for the camera!

New Baby!

Off the topic here but had to share our new baby! I am so proud..met Echo, shes a 7week old S. Husky and she is just a little doll! We have been wanting to add to our 'family' ..and have waited for a long while to get her, we have Demon our other Husky who has been in need of another doggie friend...we brought her home and as I knew he would be ok, I was surprised at how good he was about her!

Her first night was tough, she howled and cried for her other 'pack'..but we got thru it and she is adjusting well!

The kids love to play with her and Demon and to watch Demon and her play even is such fun, I know the best is just to come as she gets bigger and when the snow flies!

So everyone is happy and the fun has just begun!

So I have gone to my 4th file and got my 4th photo and here it is! I couldn't believe it was one of my rooms in Maime's Bed and Breakfest! Ha, oh this one is a special suite, many 'antiques' that were from the period of this ol Victorian house in its granduer. Guest staying in this room can enjoy the little sitting area for cuddling up or having tea, the marbled toped dressers, the antique lace bedspread, the beautiful 19th century painting of the 'Lady in pink' ..lol...

gee this reminds me of all the fun I was having working on this ...so much still to do..tho Maime still invites guests to come stay at the B&B..theres still much work to be done! Maime has been so busy at the Boutique ..she has had little time for the B&B..hey whos running the place any way..not that crazy Sea Captian is it!?!!! ugh!

oh I had today to 'myself'..meaning some of my own things..like the boutique! Hehehe, well heres the work I did, Its so hard at times to know where to put stuff..and then I find something else or more things and or don't like where something is and rearrange about 10 x's before its all said and done! LOL but here is my finished display! yeeehooo! I did it! Got it all done and filled..what pretties!!!! Most of these items were gifts from my friends. Won't the 'ladies' (mini people that is) who visit be dazzled over these have to have jewels! I am getting so excited, the more I am able to find just the right spots for everything the more it starts to come to life! Maybe I can find some more time tomorrow and do some more, but for now todays work is done!

Ahhh, at last! A utility shelf!

You see I'd seen these and wanted one for sooo long, then one of my mini friends seen one as well..we all wanted one then! lol, so we all decided that we could make our own! And we did!! See!

So everyone got in on it, and sent something for everyone to add to the wonderful shelf made by our mini friend Diann. About 90% of the items shown on the shelf are from the gals, and the rest is from me.

Just to identify a few, which there are so many things to mention...

The mop, and swiffer were things Michelle Canada (Butterfly Dreams) made. The totally awesome sponge mop was made by Carolyn Petry. Jar of screws from Bobbi M., the tape measure, the cool packages of sandpaper, shop towels, belt by Mishelly and the box of matches,mousetrap and laundry scoop by Kerrie F. The bottle of Cheer made by Mary Ann M. The neat little Behr paint cans made by Diana F.

I made the orange extention cord and package of light bulbs.

This was so much fun and to see how easy it was to make dreams come true when you have great friends like these!

My goodness it has been too long I have not been on here ranting! I sure have not been 'cured' of my 'disease' ..lol...wouldn't want anyone to think that, no ..just been side tracked with real life...but I have found myself in my corner of the world, all mini of coarse, playing with a collection of purses..only one made by me here, the rest were from past swaps, but they are a great start to fill a display for my boutique!

I wanted some displays for my boutique to display some lacey items...couldn't find any to buy so I made my own, didn't turn out so bad ;P but alot of work shaping these then dressing, lol, sure do hope my mini friends enjoy their I made them as i enjoyed making them

Then I wanted some pretty trinket boxes..well couldn't find any of those to buy either..so you guessed it, I made my own! Made a few for my friends which I hope they will enjoy also!

Since we moved into our new house a couple years ago now...my 'new' workshop has yet to be finished in the basement...but I prefer the sunnier, warmer little 'nook' I have in my dinning room ..not to mention it is right off the kitchen..easy to grab a snack when the 'madness' has caused a rumble from below!

So today was a chilly, windy day..

Nothing better to do then get back to things...I have a big huge mess sitting for me on my work table, nothing like spending most of the afternoon fighting with glue bottles, scissors, papers, odds and ends. They just didn't want to be put away! What happened on that table!?! Looked like some sort of bomb went off! Everyone was out of place, ugh! Who has been at my stuff?! Meee? Did I really leave this mess..mess? Now a few weeks ago I'd seen this differently! ha!

But I did get it under control....found some time to add my newest creation to my computer desk..the Ipod! Hehee, these were alot of fun to make and share with my friends...

Now maybe tomorrow I can get back to that Boutique!

Needless to say...had a distraction.........lol

Putting it all back...

Well, some of you know the story of the 'basement incident'...yes, the destruction on some of my houses and things in my workshop (which still needs doors..and walls) ... we were able to pin two, possibly three suspects.......we won't say names, but one being a small 5 year old child, the other a furrier child with four legs... goodness the destruction created from these two..possibly three...well the residents of one house, the 'Granny' house were hit the hardest..their door just ripped right off its hinges...the beautiful hardwood flooring ripped up in some spots and scratched..even looked chewed on....still matching dental impressions....uuhmm, anyhoo...the roof was torn off in the back and many shingles.......the entire first floor was 'bombed' with fur! That was our first clue.......one suspect we consider to have more or less turned himself in with just one guilty look upon his face when Mom was inspecting the remains!

So good news is we are putting back the pieces! We have cleaned up the mess, spent many hours regluing and salvaging what we could....Mr. Grampa seen here is finally able to return with some furniture and try to put things back together.....

Mrs. Granny awaits with more instructions for Mr. Grampa at Maime's B&B where they have been staying since the incident..Maime has been very kind to provide them with a room and needs free of charge til things are repaired and they can return home......yes, can you see her customed made dress has also been torn..Savages!

More work to do, furniture to replace.....we'll keep you posted ;)

We now have them in the country store! What a job that was..I used my pleater to help with the task..sometimes this can be a tricky job! I used some stiffy spray and my tip is a hair dryer, low setting to help speed things up a bit..I have no patience! lol No time for this waiting for it to dry stuff! NO, When we only have a few lucky moments to work on such things we need to work fast, make every minute count! Then we can fight with the sticky glue! ha ha, love that!

Well all fun aside, we have them hung and think it all went well ;)

I have so many projects, but one I would like to take you to..update you on..it is my current project that I am working on. It is the Brimble kit and I had to have it! It was mostly put together, but I decided I had new ideas for it..I wanted a new look for it...I want to start with the upstairs..it is to be a ladies Boutique...let me catch you up on my progress...I took the roof off, stripped the paper flooring off and the old wallpaper...not easy, but with much elbow grease I got er done!

Here is a c'mas corner I made, tree is decorated in the same colors as my real life tree. I display this on our mantel at c'mas time. Tree was a kit from my mini friend Lisa Linsday(A Novel Idea), doll and pull toy were gifts from my mini friend Carolyn Petry. I had alot of fun gluing all the decorations onto that tree!
